The House of Jehu is a stone dwelling with its name carved above the door and a cross fixed to the shutter beside it. Cypress stand either side of the arch. Geraniums are kept in terracotta at the step.

Inside it is one warm room: plank ceiling, exposed brick, a wood stove that gets used, a kilim rug worn soft. Glazed doors open onto the terrace and stay open most of the year. There is a desk under the window for anyone who came to write something down.
